Household Profiles

7 topics from the guide built into BioHack Track, published in full.

What household profiles are

One app install can track more than one person. The phone's owner is the Owner profile; anyone else in your household gets their own profile with the full feature set — protocols, doses, inventory, labs, check-ins, photos, streaks, and achievements — all kept completely separate. Nothing from one profile appears in another's charts, reports, or reminders.

Add a profile

Tap the avatar circle in the Today tab's toolbar to open the profile switcher, then Add Profile. All a new profile needs is a name and a color. There's no separate setup flow — the new member starts with a clean slate and every feature the Owner has.

Switch between profiles

Tap the avatar circle on Today and pick a person — one tap, no PIN, no confirmation. The whole app switches: Today shows their doses, Health shows their labs, Inventory shows their stock. The avatar always shows whose data you're looking at, and Today greets the active profile by name.

Why only the Owner syncs Apple Health

Apple Health data on this phone belongs to the phone's owner, so automatic Health sync (weight, steps, heart metrics, sleep) runs only for the Owner profile. Other household members enter their weight and measurements manually in Daily Check-In, or import from a smart scale — everything else works identically.

Reminders for everyone

Dose reminders fire for every profile, not just the one you're currently viewing — a switched-away family member's schedule still notifies on time, with their name in the notification so it's clear who it's for. Search also spans the whole household, with each result labeled by person.

Backups, moving data in, and per-person restore

Export All Data backs up the entire household in one file. When restoring a multi-profile backup, you can choose to bring in only specific people — useful for setting up one member's data on a new device. And if someone was already tracking in their own copy of the app, their full backup can be imported into your household: their data arrives intact as a member profile, without disturbing the Owner's.

Rename, recolor, reorder, or remove

Settings → Profiles (or Manage Profiles in the switcher) lets you rename a person, change their color, drag to reorder, or delete a member profile. Deleting a member permanently removes their data on this device after a confirmation — the Owner profile can't be deleted. Sharing a vial with another member? Use Share With on the inventory item, and both of you draw from the same stock.
